Helping you to stay Healthy in the 21st Century

About Me May 26, 2009

linda age 2 Hi, I am a Mum of three boys (now Men!) and a registered nurse with a Diploma in Nutritional Medicine. I gave up work and England 5 years ago and moved to Southern Spain with my husband and eldest son.We live in a beautiful, quiet location and I had imagined a peaceful life, reading books, practising Yoga and studying Energy Medicine. This was not to be.  The last 5 years have been taken up with caring for various family members and   friends who were ill and trying to cope with, at times very high levels of stress. I became extremely tired, frustrated with life and discontented. Something had to change and I realised that it was mainly my attitude.

I had come to Spain to retire from nursing, give up caring for everyone and do things for myself – nourish my soul, rest……My reality is that I am a carer and, hopefully I will always be ( I’d make a terrible patient!) I have come to realise this only recently and now realise that through all of my years of nursing I have been at odds with the medical profession. I have witnessed 30 years of decline in the caring, holistic side of healthcare, a tremendous increase in the use of drugs and a dire lack of time allotted for listening, understanding and treating.

Now through books and the internet I know that a huge wave of change is happening and I want to be part of it. The key words are Integrated Medicine  – teaching people to stay healthy and take responsibility for managing their personal health, now  I have decided to accept that my life cannot be one long holiday, that the internet is a necessary evil if I want to continue to be educated and to educate and that I really want to make a difference and be heard. I’m hoping that this Blog will be just one way of acheiving that.

The information provided on this site is designed to support, not replace, the relationship that exists between a patient/site visitor and his/her existing physician.

Thanks milleniumhealth for sharing your story and inviting me to your blog. It is so important for people to know how to care for their health. Prevention is so much better than having to treat an illness. God Bless you and your family : )

Hello.Well done for voicing these words, and how right you are! My local GP looks more ill than her patients, she is so overwhelmed with work, I suspect. I’m so glad you are publicising the healthy value of the olive tree produce. The more folk who learn this, the better off they will be healthwise. Good luck with your fine web site. Your son is in the process of constructing our new website! He’s a fine lad. Dina

  3. Hi Linda!!
It’s Bex from Loose. I have just been looking at your site and think it is completely brilliant. I hope I can get emails or newsletters as you upadte.
I have just finished a course in holistic massage and now studying reflexology. I think there is alot to be said for maintaining wellness and looking after your body and mind as a whole rather than always relying on over the counter or prescription medicines.
Anyway – I hope you are well and looking forward to having a longer look through your site!
    Hope you are all well
    Bex x
